Migration Steps

Move Your Crypto to the New RockWallet App

Same wallet, better experience. Here's everything you need to know to bring your funds over.

What does migration mean? Same wallet. Better experience.

Why a new app?

We rebuilt RockWallet from the ground up. It's a completely new app — not an update to the one you already have — with a smoother experience and a stronger foundation underneath it.

What does “migration” actually mean?

Because the new app is a separate build, your funds don't carry over automatically. Migrating simply means sending your crypto from your wallet in the legacy app to your wallet in the new app — the same way you'd send crypto to any other wallet.

What happens to the legacy app?

The legacy app will eventually be retired as everyone moves over to the new build. Moving your funds sooner rather than later means uninterrupted access and no last-minute scramble.

How to Move Your Funds. Four Steps. A Few Minutes. You're Done.

1

Download the NEW RockWallet

Get it from the App Store or Google Play, then create a new account. Heads up: this is a new account, so you'll need to verify your identity again, the same as you did the first time.

2

Get your wallet address in the NEW RockWallet

Open the receive screen for the crypto you're moving and copy the wallet address (or have it ready to scan as a QR code).

3

Transfer funds from the legacy app

In your legacy RockWallet app, send your crypto to the address you just copied — the same way you'd send to any other wallet.

4

Confirm your funds have arrived

Check the new app to make sure everything landed. Network confirmation times vary by asset, so give it a few minutes before you worry.

Things Worth Knowing

  • You're creating a brand new account in the new app, so you'll need to verify your identity again.
  • Double-check the receiving address before you send anything — crypto transfers can't be reversed.
  • Standard network fees apply, same as any wallet-to-wallet transfer.
  • Move one small test amount first if you're moving a large balance, then send the rest once it arrives.
